Character, Beauty and Ancestry

We used suffolk latches not long ago to fix up an old country house that we had recently bought at an excellent cost. We did this as we were really enthusiastic on keeping the early character and presence of the house. To ensure we completed the work accurately, I researched the time in which it was built. From this research I could use as many iron monger products as available to ensure I got the look just right. Taking a look around the cottage, revealed plenty ways in which I could refurbish it to its past greatness. I wandered about the people who built the house, the materials they used and the life they led.

Part of the project also included restoring the barn and storage houses so we used butterfly hinges to make the interior and exterior doors appear like they came straight from the Victorian Date. From a classical ironmongery shop in the town, I managed to find the faultless products that also had a beeswax finish. It turned out that we were not the only ones that took this restoration work for real as a lot of our new neighbors dropped by to thank us for preserving the heritage of the village and home. I will always remain enthusiastic about keeping the heritage and character of my admirable new country cottage.
